Stage Fighting & Physical Acting
with Tony Simotes
For High School students and Adults
1 ½ hour class on Thursdays from 6:30 - 8 pm
Whether the scene is comic or violent, how do actors stay safe on stage when the script calls for a fight? Playwrights still require actors to express a full range of emotions and actions in their plays. Actors need to know how to protect themselves and still have artistic "fun" as we take on the villains and/or comic sidekicks that fill our theatrical literature. In this class, we’ll cover a series of easy moves that anyone can do to expand their actor's tool kit! We'll discuss and work with both props and hand to hand moves as we have fun exploring the craft of stage fighting and physical acting. You'll learn how to feel safe and be more confident when involved with physical action, no matter your skill level.
This class will be held via the Zoom platform from 6:30 to 8 pm each day class is held. Students must be able to have access to a device with a camera and microphone which can also download the Zoom application. A link will be supplied in the confirmation email after you register.
